Daily Bulletin, Wednesday, August 17, 1994

ROAD CLOSED: UW's ring road between the Commissary and General
Services Complex will be closed today for water supply repair.

Karl Dietrich, supervisor of mechanical services at plant
operations, said the construction project will replace a water
main running under the road, in front of the entrance between the
two buildings.

"The existing water main broke down not so long ago, so we have
decided to replace it entirely," Dietrich said.

As a result of the construction, Kitchener Transit service will
only be available on the west side of ring road today.

ANTICIPATED REPORT: The much-anticipated report reviewing the
university's senior administration will be released in early
September, said UW president James Downey.

It had been reported earlier by the Daily Bulletin that the
report would be released August 15, but because of the vacation
schedules of both the president and the vice-president academic
and provost, Jim Kalbfleisch, the release date was postponed.

When the report by the president's advisory committee on the
central administrative structure is made public, a response is
also expected from Downey and Kalbfleisch on any changes being
made to the top-level administrative structure.

STUDENT FUNERAL: A funeral will be held Thursday in Toronto for
Daniel Chan, a UW economics student, who died in a swimming
mishap last Saturday in Elora Gorge Park.

The service will be held at 11 a.m.. in the Kane Funeral Home,
6150 Yonge St. The family will receive visitations tonight, from
7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
