Robert Mudie, longtime head of UW's food services
department, died peacefully at Freeport Hospital on Sunday.
Cause of death -- cancer.  He was 59 years old. Bob was a UW
employee for 29 years before retiring on June 1, 1991.

A Memorial Service will be held this Thursday (July 22) at 7
p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Queen and Weber
Sts., Kitchener. Donations to the UW Retirees Award Fund
(through Office of Development).

A reception will be held in Burt Matthews Hall tomorrow
(Wednesday, July 21, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.) to kick off a special
exhibit of the Trivial Pursuit board game. More than 100
objects related to the popular Horn Abbot Ltd. game,
including the original prototype board, will be displayed by
the Museum and Archive of Games. Dave Mackenzie, a former UW
student and one of Trivial Pursuit's original investors and

Not much new to report on the Social Contract except that
talks continue at a brisk pace involving the university and
the employee groups.  A meeting of the university's
stakeholders group (student, faculty and staff
representatives) took place this morning to bring everyone
up to speed on progress to date.
