UPDATE ON PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT TO UW:   Prime Minister Kim Campbell
will be visiting the University of Waterloo campus 
today (Monday, Aug. 16) to meet with youngsters attending 
science, arts and computer camps, as well as 
university students and researchers.

The plans call for her to arrive about 2 p.m. at 
the Davis Centre (Great Hall) after making a major policy speech 
about education and training at a noon meeting of 
the Confederation Club at the Valhalla Inn in Kitchener.

While at UW, Campbell is to meet with youngsters ranging 
in age from seven to 12 from the Engineering Science Quest 
and Arts Computer day camps. She will also view 
experimental cars, including the solar-powered Midnight Sun II, 
Mini Baja off-road racer and Shell Fuelathon car, all 
designed and built by UW engineering students. She will 
be informed of student-funded initiatives, see a 
research display and meet with several researchers.

Also on the agenda is a round-table discussion with 
UW co-operative education and graduate students (not open to the public).

The visit to UW is expected to last about an hour after 
which Campbell will be flying to Halifax for several 
days of business meetings in the Maritimes.
