WOMEN MARCH: The annual "Take Back the Night" march starts at 7:00
tonight at the Seagram Drive entrance to Waterloo Park, just off campus.
Participating women will march through Waterloo to downtown Kitchener
to draw attention to personal safety in the city.

COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN: The deadline is at hand for staff and faculty who
want to contribute to UW's fund-raising campaign in time for next week's
prize draw. Everyone who's made a 1993-94 pledge to the Community
Campaign is eligible. The draw comes Thursday morning, September 30,
at a reception for Campaign representatives. Last-minute inquiries
about the Campaign can be directed to Pat Cunningham of the development
office, ext. 2562.

STUDENT-FUNDED PROJECTS: UW students spent $30,000 in the spring term
on "quality of life projects" on campus. Among them: an elevator in the
Physical Activities Complex, and gas barbecues for the Math Society
(which other student groups can also use for social events). The money
represents the first-fruits of a special student fee ($10 per term for
undergraduates) which will also be paying the construction costs of the
new Student Centre and the north campus athletic facility. Because some
present students will be gone before the new buildings are in full use,
short-term projects like the elevator and barbecue are also part of the
"student co-ordinated plan". We'll have the full list of spring term
projects in next week's Gazette.
