ORIENTATION CONTINUES: If you're in the central area of campus you can
hardly overlook orientation, as the music booms out from Science Society
headquarters at the Chemistry-Biology link. Most first-year students
will have their attention taken up with academic orientation today, and
the English Language Proficiency Examination happens in shifts: engineering
students at 9:30, arts at 1:00, science at 2:30, math, ES and AHS at 4:00.
Tonight: scavenger hunts and Federation Hall parties.

GLASSBLOWER IS MOURNED: Dave Chandler, one of UW's long-time staff members,
died of cancer Monday at the age of 59. He was the glassblower for the
chemical engineering department, and had been at Waterloo since 1967. The
funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Ratz-Bechtel
Funeral Home, 621 King Street West.

THEY'VE GOT PIZZA: A "Pizza Pizza" outlet opened yesterday upstairs in
South Campus Hall, where a Taco Bell outlet already shares space with the
regular Festival Room servery. Mark Murdoch, director of food services,
says arrangements to sell Pizza Pizza subs and pizza slices were settled
just last week.

THIS BULLETIN: The Daily Bulletin is created each morning (the exact time
varies) and distributed in two ways. You can find it on the newsgroup
uw.general, accessible on Unix-based computers through "rn" or a similar
command; or you can find it in UWinfo, the university's "campus-wide
information system", on the main menu. Previous days' Bulletins, dating
back to the introduction of this service in May, can also be found in
UWinfo. The Bulletin is edited as a complement to the Gazette, which has
the same editor.
