ENROLMENT FIGURES: UW has a grand total of 25,925 students this fall,
according to figures from the registrar's office and graduate office.
That includes 15,868 full-time undergraduates and 1,793 full-time graduate
students, 7,847 part-time undergrads and 417 part-time grads. The total is
a drop of 3.5 per cent from last year's figure, and is almost 1,400 students
lower than the all-time high of 27,297 in 1991-92.

STAFF ASSOCIATION LEADERS: Leaders of the staff association over the next
two years will be Sharon -- and then Sharon. In preparation for its annual
meeting December 8, the association has announced who's been nominated for
1994 executive positions. Taking over as president for the coming year
will be Sharon Adams of the school of urban and regional planning, who's
been on the executive during 1993 as president-elect. Serving as
president-elect in 1994, and president in 1995, will be Sharon Lamont,
supervisor of user services in the Davis Centre library. She was acclaimed
to the president-elect post, as no other candidates were nominated.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Starting today, readers who find the Daily Bulletin on
a "newsgroup" have another choice. Besides uw.general, the Bulletin is
being cross-posted to a lower-volume newsgroup, uw.campus-news (and I'd
like to thank the reader, whose name I have lost, who suggested this
cross-posting). The Bulletin is also available on the UWinfo gopher.
